As you may or may not know the main Second Moon Games site is built with an open source CMS (content management system) called Drupal. It's an interesting system to use and a mixed blessing about it is that there are constant developments being made to it. 'The drop is always moving,' as they say.
Part of what this means for the SMG site is that we're switching to the new Drupal 7 system. Currently the site's made and maintained in Drupal 6, so while this won't be the first update to the Drupal system since the site went live it is the first upgrade from one major version to another.
At the same time we'll be looking into cosmetic and functional upgrades to the site to make the whole experience better both for the users and the administration.
The main site is still up right now and will be through the majority of the testing process; once we start upgrading, however, it will (by necessity) be taken offline for a short time. As we've never done this before we have no idea how long a time it'll be.
